Using Artwork as Inspiration for Stained Glass Design Workshop

If you have a favorite work of art that you would like to see represented in stained glass but are not sure about signing up for a course spanning several weeks, this is the workshop for you!

During this two-hour workshop, you will:

  • analyze an image of a piece of artwork from home or provided in-studio to identify key components (i.e.lines, textures, and colors) to incorporate into a design intended for stained glass
  • synthesize the key components from your piece of artwork with the knowledge of the properties of glass breaking patterns, copper foil widths and properties, and scale to create an initial stained glass design
  • problem-solve common design challenges, including interior curves and sharp angles, too-small or too-large pieces, and design scale
  • choose swatches of glass and foil suitable for your design

All materials are provided and included in the price of this introductory workshop. All tools are provided by Salon Lupine.

Instructor: Olivia Vavroch
Maximum number of students: 8

This workshop will meet on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 9:30am - 11:20am.

The cost of this workshop may be deducted from your future purchase of a multi-week glass class offered through Salon Lupine.
