Using Artwork as Inspiration for Stained Glass Design Workshop

If you have a favorite work of art that you would like to see represented in stained glass but are not sure about signing up for a course spanning several weeks, this is the workshop for you!

During this two-hour workshop, you will:

  • analyze an image of a piece of artwork from home or provided in-studio to identify key components (i.e.lines, textures, and colors) to incorporate into a design intended for stained glass
  • synthesize the key components from your piece of artwork with the knowledge of the properties of glass breaking patterns, copper foil widths and properties, and scale to create an initial stained glass design
  • problem-solve common design challenges, including interior curves and sharp angles, too-small or too-large pieces, and design scale
  • choose swatches of glass and foil suitable for your design

All materials are provided and included in the price of this introductory workshop. All tools are provided by Salon Lupine.

This workshop will meet on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 9:30am - 11:20am.

Make It Stick: Intro to Foiling Workshop, 6pm - 8pm

Make It Stick: Intro to Foiling Workshop

If you are intrigued by the medium of art glass but are not sure about signing up for a course spanning several weeks, this is the workshop for you!

During this two-hour workshop, you will:

  • experiment with and practice using several different burnishing tools to find which ones work best for you
  • apply different widths of copper foil to the edges of various thicknesses and textures of glass to prepare the pieces for soldering
  • problem-solve common foiling issues, including cracking, non-adhering, and uneven coverage

All materials are provided and included in the price of this introductory workshop. All tools are provided by Salon Lupine.

Create Your Own Stained Glass Panel Class, 1pm - 4pm

Create Your Own Stained Glass Panel Class

If you want to design and create your own one-of-a-kind stained glass panel from start to finish, this six-part class is designed for you!

During this stained glass class you will:

  • design your own pattern to create your own one-of-a-kind version measuring up to two square feet
  • choose glass from Salon Lupine to use to bring your design to life
  • cut, break, and grind around your pattern pieces
  • foil your glass pieces to prepare them for soldering
  • use a soldering iron and flux to secure your foiled glass pieces together
  • apply patina to change the appearance of the solder
  • support and finish your art glass piece with a frame of either tinned copper foil, lead came, or zinc came, depending on the design

All materials are provided and included in the price of this class. All tools are provided by Salon Lupine.

If you are intrigued by the medium of art glass but are not sure about signing up for a course spanning several weeks, this is the workshop for you!

During this workshop, you will:

  • experiment with and practice using several different glass cutting and breaking tools to find which ones work best for you
  • cut art glass freestyle, cut straight and curved lines, and cut around pattern pieces
  • use a diamond file and glass grinder to smooth the edges of the glass you have cut
  • problem-solve common cutting and breaking challenges, including interior curves and sharp angles, too-small or too-large pieces, and cutting textured glass

All materials are provided and included in the price of this introductory workshop.
All tools are provided by Salon Lupine.
